Carved in Stone is a webseries created by Porter Justus and produced by Sean Hussey. The series follows Amelia Sloane (played by Nicole Wheeler) as she journeys to return cultural artifacts to their location of origin; kind of like a reverse Indiana Jones.

I was assigned mostly keying, roto, and clean-up shots. For the majority of the clean-up shots, I created clean-plates in Photoshop and then used tracking data generated in Nuke to integrate the clean-plate into the original shots. Clean-up shots included removing chargers from the background of a sequence of shots and closing a distracting door behind Amelia’s head.

For the “void shot”, where Amelia is surrounded by nothing but fog and the water beneath her, I utilized luminance keys and Cattery, a machine learning toolset created by the Foundry. Once I pulled the key, I composited Amelia to be surrounded by smoke effects.

I also pulled keys for a couple of blue-screen shots that were composited onto matte-paintings created by other artists for the production.
